We will explore the features of cooperative businesses that make this business model a workhorse in agriculture and the best kept secret in capitalist economies. \nDr. Keri L. Jacobs is associate professor and extension economist in the Department of Economics at ISU and the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives Endowed Economics Professor. In her role at ISU\, she is an undergraduate educator\, researcher\, and extension specialist with a focus on cooperatives.
