The Iowa Institute for Cooperatives plays an active roll in the legislative process at the Iowa Capitol. The IIC has two lobbyists, Megan Carlson and Mike St. Clair, who monitor the issues pertinent to cooperatives including, but not limited to: cooperative law, environmental regulations, transportation issues, taxation and general agriculture issues.
The IIC membership revises and approves the legislative policies and priorities of the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives annually. The resolutions approved at the 74th annual meeting held on November 26, 2024 have been finalized and are available here.
